Matthew 6:11-13
Jesus describes sin as a debt and tells us we should deal with sin in two important ways: ask God to forgive our sins through confession and to forgive others who sin against us. He also makes it clear that if we choose our kingdom over God's kingdom we will be tempted and fail. Our daily delivery from sin and temptation is as important to address as our requests for our daily bread.
Many people are missing out on the rewards of prayer. Jesus models prayer for His disciples and for us, but the Lord's Prayer is often mishandled in our lives. We need to look to Jesus to get our expectations, attitudes, and focus right as we pray.
