An Update from Pastor Rusty

Dear Church Family,

Well, I had already written this update this morning before Governor Edwards changed his executive order to limit gatherings to no more than 50.  Though last Sunday our numbers were down, we still had a wonderful time of worship.  But with this new order, we will not be able to hold worship services for several weeks.

The news continues to expand as this remains a very fluid situation.  We want to keep everyone informed as quickly as we can.  For the time being, we will still have our Family Life Groups at 9:45 am.

We also intend to start back up our next round of SNLs (Sunday Night Life groups) this Sunday at 6:00 pm.  Be sure to sign up for one of the groups being offered or just show up.  We are postponing our Wednesday night activities for our Children’s and Youth Ministry.

Again, I want to encourage you if you fall in the category of those who are more susceptible to complications from the coronavirus, please stay home to keep yourself safe.  If you need any assistance, His Hands is wanting to help in any way they can.

I also want to encourage everyone to remain faithful in their tithes and offering during this time.  We will receive your offerings during Family Life Groups.  Or, for your convenience and health safety, you can mail your offering to the church or even do an automatic draft through your bank.  You can go online to our website and give through “Online Giving.”

Lastly, we are trying to add one more way for everyone to stay connected.  We currently send out information through emails, Facebook and our website.  But we are also setting up a way to send out information via text messages.  If one person from your family will text @ewbaptist to 81010, your cell phone number will be added to a list of numbers so we can send out one text and everyone will receive the information.

Please continue to pray for our country and for our President and Vice-President.  Pray for the health and well-being of our Church Family as well as our personal families.  And pray for God’s hand to intervene in these times.

God is great,
Pastor Rusty
